Tools of the Trade

                   

Halligan Tool - one of the most common tools used by firefighters. It has an almost unlimited number of uses from helping to gain entry into a house to being used as a pry tool to help move heavy objects.

 

Flat Head Axe - also one of the most common tools used by firefighters. It has many uses from being used to help open doors to being used to make openings in roofs to let the superheated gases from the fire escape.

 

Pick Head Axe - similar to the flat head axe with the addition of a pick. 

 

Pike Pole - primarily used to search for hidden fires behind ceilings and/or walls. Its point is used to poke through the ceiling and the hook is then used to pull the ceiling down.
